Road Lines

2019—04-present
Photography for a personal project, Road Lines, documenting traffic lines that have shifted or were badly laid in Metro Atlanta. The project sites are crowdsourced using a custom Google Map layer.

These lines were discovered while driving to the dog park or the airport in the fall of 2018. I was grateful to find them still here in early 2019. Occasionally, GDOT “repairs” what we will call “erroneous lines” by scraping off the tape. They do not replace the section, only remove it. The error becomes an absence.

Is an absence still an error?
